Pakistan Govt Hikes Petrol Prices by Rs. Rs9.66 Per Litre

ISLAMABAD:  The government of Pakistan has hiked the petrol price by Rs9.66 per litre for the next fortnight starting from Monday.

After the latest increase, the new price of the petrol reached Rs289.41 per litre, said a notification issued by the Finance Division on Sunday.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been decreased by Rs3.32 per litre to Rs282.24.

Explaining the reason behind the adjustments, the Finance Division in the notification said that the price of Petrol has risen in the global market during the last fortnight, while the price of HSD has marginally reduced.

It said that the government has decided to revise the existing prices of petroleum products.

According to the notification the price adjustments are in line with the government’s policy of passing on the variations of prices in the global market to the domestic market.

The new petroleum prices would come into effect from April 1.

Meanwhile, the people have voiced concern over the recent increase in petrol prices ahead of Edi-ul-Fitar.
