KUALA LUMPUR: COVID-19 cases in Malaysia reached 3,024 on midnight Friday, which has brought the national total to 4,981,374, since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
According to the Malaysian government, In the newly reported Covid case, seven new cases are imported, and the remaining 3,017 virus cases are locally transmitted covid 19 cases
Data released by the health ministry shows that eight deaths have been reported due to the virus making the death toll 36,644 cases.
The Malaysian health ministry reported 2,969 new recoveries from the virus, making the total number of cured and discharged patients to the toll of 4,917,827.
Active covid cases 19 in Malaysia
The Malaysian health ministry said that in the country there are 26,903 active cases, of which 92 virus cases are being held in intensive care and 52 of those in need of assisted breathing.
Malaysia reported 4,011 vaccine doses administered on Friday, and 86.1 percent of the population had administered at least one dose.
The fully vaccinated population is around 84.3 percent while 49.8 percent have received the first booster, and 1.8 percent have received the second booster.
Covid 19 cases in China
The National Health Commission of China said that country is reported with 3,405 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Yesterday the total number of cases of Covid 19 stands at the toll 31,504 local asymptomatic carriers were newly identified.
A total of 1,893 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals after recovery till Friday, said the commission in its daily report.
Friday saw no new deaths from COVID-19, with the total death toll at 5,232 since the start of the pandemic. — APP
