ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has disbursed over Rs. 58 billion among more than 5.5 million beneficiaries nationwide under the Benazir Kafaalat scheme. The quarterly tranche (Jan-March) of Rs. 10,500 per household is being smoothly distributed across the country.
As of March 25, 4:00 pm, the disbursement has reached over 59.6% of the total beneficiaries, with payments ongoing in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Beneficiaries are advised to collect their full payment from designated bank representatives and report any deductions to the toll-free number or Tehsil offices.
Additionally, education stipends and special Ramzan grants are also being disbursed. A dedicated control room has been set up to address beneficiary complaints promptly, and WhatsApp numbers have been provided for direct communication.
It’s emphasized that messages from BISP are sent only from 8171, and any other number should not be trusted. Officials are ensuring the smooth disbursement of Kafaalat payments without deductions and are monitoring the process closely to take action against agents responsible for any discrepancies.
BISP continues to support 9.3 million deserving families, serving as a crucial lifeline for those facing economic hardship. The Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCT) program, also known as the “Benazir Kafaalat Programme,” remains the largest single cash transfer program in Pakistan’s history, providing vital assistance since its inception in 2008.
