PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Minister Zahir Shah Toro announced stern measures against individuals exploiting government-set price lists, leading to unjustified price increases and contributing to inflation.
In a press release, Minister Toro highlighted that while prices of food items have seen a relative decrease, certain items remain costly due to imports from other regions.
The minister directed Deputy Commissioners and relevant authorities to swiftly act against wholesalers and profiteers engaged in price manipulation.
He emphasized that officials failing in their duties will face consequences for their negligence.
Expressing concern over the declining performance of the Food Authority during the interim government, Minister Toro urged citizens to report any instances of artificial inflation to the complaints cell for prompt resolution.
