LONDON: Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been discharged from the hospital following abdominal surgery, confirmed by her Kensington Palace office on Monday.
The 42-year-old princess, married to Prince William, the heir to the British throne, received treatment at a private London hospital nearly two weeks ago.
The palace statement mentioned that Catherine has returned home to Windsor, located west of London, where she will continue her recovery. The statement also said that she is making “good progress” at home, and officials previously indicated that she would require several months for recuperation.
Expressing their gratitude, Kate and William conveyed a “huge thank you” to the hospital staff and expressed their ongoing appreciation for the well wishes received from people around the world.
During her operation, Kensington Palace emphasized that Catherine’s condition was unrelated to cancer, providing no further details. Meanwhile, King Charles III, Catherine’s father-in-law, remains in the same London clinic following his prostate surgery on Friday. Reports indicate that Charles, 75, is “doing well” after the procedure.
