Mobilink Bank, Unikrew Solutions, USAID Unite for Women’s Financial Inclusion in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Mobilink Bank has entered into a strategic collaboration with prominent fintech player Unikrew Solutions to drive financial inclusion for women in the country. This joint effort is part of a project funded by USAID. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Quratulain Chaudhary, Executive Manager of Women Financial Services (WFS) Mobilink Bank, and Muhammad Naveed Sharif, Director of Unikrew Solutions, alongside Project Leads in Islamabad. 

Mobilink Bank, a part of the VEON group, a global digital operator serving nearly 160 million customers across six dynamic markets, is committed to fostering women’s financial inclusion for inclusive socio-economic growth. The project aims to facilitate account openings for 15,000 women nationwide, offering special incentives to encourage their active participation in the economic sphere. Beneficiaries will also gain access to Mobilink Bank’s comprehensive digital and financial products and services.

Under this collaboration, Mobilink Bank and Unikrew Solutions will conduct capacity-building programs, particularly in digital and financial skills, to empower women in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Joint events and networking opportunities will be organized to identify and convert business prospects into actionable project plans.

Mobilink Bank Aims to Advance Women’s Financial Inclusion

Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mobilink Bank, expressed strong support for the partnership, highlighting its potential to advance women’s financial inclusion and address gender disparities. He emphasized Mobilink Bank’s commitment to promoting gender inclusivity, citing the significance of their Women Inspirational Network (WIN) initiative in enhancing women’s economic engagement.

Maura O’Brien, USAID Acting Mission Director, stated, “USAID is committed to women’s empowerment and continues to design new programs consciously investing in women’s success. We believe that access to finance is a lynchpin for women in Pakistan to realize their full economic potential.”

Muhammad Naveed Sharif, Director of Unikrew Solutions, noted, “This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing women’s financial empowerment in Pakistan. We are committed to working alongside Mobilink Bank and USAID to create meaningful opportunities for women’s economic participation and growth.”

Empowered by a history of supporting women entrepreneurs through skill development and accessible finance, WIN is poised to contribute to the success of this USAID-funded initiative. The project is expected to drive Mobilink Bank’s future initiatives focused on empowering women.
