ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, has strongly denounced the Indian Supreme Court’s (ISC) verdict to uphold the revocation of the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

Expressing deep disappointment with the verdict, Pakistan’s President said that the Indian judiciary has bowed to the fascist Hindutva ideology, aligning its decisions with the Indian government’s agenda.

President Alvi underscores that such rulings cannot legitimize India’s occupation of IIOJ&K, emphasizing that the Jammu and Kashmir issue remains an internationally recognized dispute on the UN Security Council’s agenda for over seven decades.

Indian Supreme Court’s Ruling on IIOJ&K Won’t Alter Situation

In strong condemnation of the ISC decision, the President laments the unfortunate history of Indian courts delivering verdicts against Muslims, citing cases such as the Babri Masjid, Samjhota Express, Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blast, and the Naroda Gam massacre during the 2002 Gujarat riots. He firmly said that the ISC’s ruling does not alter the status of IIOJ&K.

The President predicted that the judgment would only fuel the determination of the people of IIOJ&K in their just struggle against India’s illegal occupation. He urged the international community to hold India accountable for the commitments made to the Kashmiri people in the past.

The President reiterated the commitment of the entire Pakistani nation to provide moral and diplomatic support to their Kashmiri brethren until they achieve the right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
