Russian Air Defence Destroys 22 Ukrainian Drones

MOSCOW: Russian air defence destroyed 22 drones launched by Ukraine in addition to the intercepting 13 more over the Azov Sea and Crimea, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry, as reported by state news agency TASS, stated, “An attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of UAVs in the night against facilities on Russian territory was thwarted.” It further elaborated, saying, “Air defence units on duty destroyed 22 Ukrainian UAVs and intercepted 13 more over the Sea of Azov and in the airspace over the Republic of Crimea.”

According to the ministry, at 3:00 a.m. GMT, six Ukrainian UAVs were detected over the Sea of Azov. It reported, “Four of them were destroyed, and two more were intercepted.

On the other hand, Ukraine reported multiple fires in the Kharkiv region following Russian drone attacks on civil infrastructure.

According to Ukrinform, Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Syniehubov stated, “The occupiers are launching Shahed drone attacks, targeting the Izium and Chuhuiv districts. Some civil infrastructure objects were hit, resulting in several fires. No casualties have been reported so far.
