GAZA: Unending waves of Israeli brutal strikes on Gaza over the last fortnight have aggravated an already unsafe situation for the Gaza’s kids, who have suffered for more than a decade with no end to the issue in sight, Arab media reported on Friday. Health authorities in Gaza said that over 2,300 children have been martyred in the conflict between Hamas and Israel that erupted after the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas.

Several 40 percent of the besieged territory’s residents are aged under 18, with UNICEF saying that an average of 400 children have been martyred or wounded daily in the war. Save the Children expressed fear 870 children remain trapped under debris. The children of the war zone have also suffered emotionally.

UNICEF stated that “almost every kid in the Gaza” has witnessed trauma while some reports said that 91 percent of Gaza’s kids had suffered post-traumatic stress. “Children with war exposure have been found to have higher rates of depression, anxiety, and psychosomatic complaints,” Ayesha Kadir, a top humanitarian health adviser at Save the Children stated.
