Pakistan’s FM Discusses Gaza Crisis with Iranian, Turkish, Egyptian Counterparts

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani held telephone conversations with his counterparts from Iran, Turkiye, and Egypt, during which they discussed the ongoing Gaza crisis, particularly the tragic loss of civilian lives.

In his discussion with Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister also discussed the substantial displacement of Palestinians from their homes. Both sides concurred on the urgent necessity for taking measures to prevent the escalation of the conflict and to provide critical humanitarian aid. 

As part of a concerted effort to formulate a coordinated response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Foreign Minister Jilani also spoke with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shukri. During their conversation, they emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation of the conflict and safeguarding civilians from collective punishment, hunger, and displacement.

Jalil Abbas Jilani, in his post on X, said that he also spoke to his Turkiye counterpart Hakan Fidan and discussed the conflict in Gaza. “We agreed on imperatives of a permanent solution to the Palestine issue while seeking 1)ceasefire; 2) relief corridor,3) end to Israeli settlements; 4) release of prisoners 5) 2 State solution based on UN Resolutions. 

Moreover, the Foreign Minister assured that Pakistan would provide humanitarian assistance.
