DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police repulsed a terrorist attack on a police station in Tank district on Wednesday, just days after twin suicide bombers attacked a police mosque in the Hangu district of the province, leaving 5 people dead.
According to police officials, a group of 8 to 10 terrorists launched an assault on the Kulachi police station in Dera Ismail Khan at approximately 11:00 a.m. The attackers used two rocket launchers and subsequently engaged in indiscriminate gunfire directed at the police station. However, the vigilant police officers were well-prepared and responded effectively.
Following the effective engagement by the police, the terrorists managed to escape.
After the attempted attack, a significant deployment of police and security forces promptly arrived at the scene and established a secure perimeter around the area.
Police reported that no casualties were reported in the attack. Furthermore, law enforcement initiated a cordon of the area and commenced a comprehensive search operation to track down the terrorists.
