ASTANA: Kyrgyzstan’s ambitious plans to implement hydropower projects have the potential to not only fulfill the energy needs of the region but also create a favorable environment for sustainable development in Central Asian nations. This vision was articulated by Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, during the Innoprom Kazakhstan 2023 International Industrial Exhibition in Astana.

Speaking at the event, Japarov emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to gradually develop a series of environmentally sustainable hydropower plants within its borders. He recognized the exhibition as a crucial platform for fostering trade and economic ties that would support this vision.

Japarov underscored the importance of comprehensive policies aimed at advancing business and the economy. In light of global concerns about the rapid depletion of natural resources, he stressed the need for decisive action to overcome challenges and harness the potential of the impending “fourth industrial revolution.”

Kyrgyzstan’s Industrial Transformation

The Chairman noted that the opportunities presented by industrial transformation held significant promise for enhancing the quality of life and addressing pressing issues. However, he also acknowledged the emergence of new challenges.

He highlighted the potential for logistics to advance significantly through modern solutions, leading to more efficient resource utilization, including natural resources. This, in turn, would contribute to increased predictability, transparency, and rapid development of the economy.

The Innoprom Kazakhstan 2023 International Industrial Exhibition, held at the EXPO International Exhibition Center in Astana from September 25 to 27, has drawn participation from leading industrial and cutting-edge businesses representing more than 20 nations.
