ISLAMABAD: The Asian Games wall climbing competition will feature a five-member Pakistani team in Hangzhou, China, next month.
“The team comprises two women and three men climbers,” Secretary Alpine Club of Pakistan, Karrar Haidri, told APP on Wednesday.
He said, “The men’s team includes Fazal Wadood, Abu Zar Faiz, and Zaheer Ahmed, while the women’s team members include Eman Janat and Iqra Jillani.” The climbers will be accompanied by officials Rehmatullah and Najeeb Khan.
Sport climbing debuted in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang. At the 10th Asian Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, it is scheduled to make a second appearance on the program. From September 23 to October 8, 10,000 participants from 42 different sports will compete in Hangzhou, the third Chinese city to hold the Olympics after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010. —APP
