ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 684 Afghan Taliban terrorists and injured more than 912 others since launching the cross-border offensive Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

In an update shared on X, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Pakistani security forces had inflicted significant damage to Taliban infrastructure and combat positions during the operation.

According to the minister, 252 check posts used by Afghan Taliban have been destroyed, while 44 additional posts were captured and subsequently demolished by Pakistani forces.

He added that 229 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems belonging to the Taliban were also destroyed during the campaign.

The operation has included air strikes targeting multiple terrorist sites inside Afghanistan, with Pakistani aircraft reportedly striking 73 locations linked to Taliban.

The operation began last month after renewed clashes along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, where Afghan Taliban forces reportedly opened fire on multiple Pakistani positions, prompting a swift military response from Islamabad.

Since then, confrontations have intensified, marking one of the most serious escalations along the frontier in recent years.

Pakistan’s Armed Forces are continuing their operations against terrorist linked to the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khwarij under the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, security sources said.

Pakistan Army units targeted a terrorist position known as the Badani post, located along the Pak-Afghan border in the Chitral region, according to officials.

Security sources said the position was destroyed during the operation, which also involved the use of quadcopter surveillance and targeting systems to monitor terrorist activity in the mountainous border area.

The action came after the unprovoked aggression from across the border. Authorities stated that terrorists affiliated with the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khwarij groups have suffered significant losses during the ongoing operations.

Pakistan’s Armed Forces have also destroyed equipment storage facilities and technical support infrastructure linked to the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khawarij in Kandahar, according to security sources.

The operation was carried out between Friday and Saturday night and targeted locations allegedly being used to support subversive and terrorist activities against Pakistan.

A video released by security sources shows footage of the operation, including before-and-after visuals of the targeted sites, highlighting the scale and effectiveness of the strikes carried out during the mission.

Security officials further stated that Pakistan will continue its actions until it achieves its objectives of eliminating terrorists networks allegedly operating with external support.

The operation is part of broader efforts by Pakistan’s security forces to secure border regions and prevent cross-border terrorist activity.
