PESHAWAR: Four people have been killed and one wounded in a road accident in Lower Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, local media reported. The accident took place when a car plunged into a deep ravine at Pattan Torkamar.
A police spokesperson said in a statement that it was revealed that a car bearing registration number ANZ-393, en route from Gilgit to Islamabad, veered off the road and plunged into a deep ravine at Pattan Torkamar after driver losing his control. Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of four passengers, while one-person sustained injuries.
Following the incident, Rescue 1122, in coordination with local authorities and the police, swiftly initiated rescue operation. Four bodies were recovered from the site, along with one injured, official said.
The injured was promptly shifted to the Pattan District Headquarters Hospital for initial treatment, and later transferred to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad for further medical attention.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Ali, son of Faqeer Muhammad, hailing from Charsadda; Muhammad Imran, son of Jumma Khan, from Fateh Jhang; and two individuals yet to be identified. The injured one was identified as Ihtesham Khan, son of Abdul Rahman, from Kund Das, Gilgit. —APP
