BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Wednesday that the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is scheduled to take place in Beijing from October 17 to 18.
During this significant event, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote address. He will also host a welcoming banquet for foreign leaders and heads of international organizations who are participating in the forum, according to a statement issued by Hua Chunying.
The forum will encompass an array of activities, including an opening ceremony, three high-level forums dedicated to connectivity, green development, and the digital economy. Additionally, six thematic forums will delve into trade, people-to-people connectivity, think tank exchanges, Silk Road initiatives, sub-national maritime cooperation, and a conference for CEOs.
The previous Belt and Road Forum, held in Beijing from April 25 to 27, 2019, saw the participation of over 6,000 attendees from more than 150 countries and 92 international organizations.
