LAHORE: The cases of Dengue continue to prevail in Punjab, with a reported 181 new cases recorded on Wednesday.
The latest data by the Health Department confirmed that 12,045 dengue cases were reported across 36 districts in Punjab this year.
In the past 24 hours, the city of Lahore recorded 92 new cases of Dengue, while Rawalpindi reported 08, Multan 17, Gujranwala 32, Faisalabad 09, Narowal 04, Sheikhupura 3, Attock 03, Okara 03, and Dera Ghazi Khan reported two new cases.
Furthermore, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Hafizabad, Kasur, Sargodha, Sialkot, Jehlum, and Rajanpur each reported one case of Dengue within the same period.
Currently, 160 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 77 being treated in Lahore district hospitals.
Ali Jaan Khan, the Secretary of Health Punjab, has requested the citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. He has also urged them to cooperate with health department teams diligently working to counter this outbreak.
