According to data from the National Institute of Health (NIH), the positivity rate for these cases stood at 0.61 percent, with two patients in critical condition. Fortunately, no new fatalities were attributed to the virus, and 2,631 Covid-19 tests were conducted during this period.
In related developments, the Ministry for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination confirmed that the government has bolstered the capabilities of Border and Health Services across Pakistan to respond to any potential sub-variants of COVID-19 effectively.
They emphasized a robust surveillance system at all entry points, including airports, where passengers undergo rapid testing and screening.
Additionally, it was highlighted that a significant portion of the country’s population, approximately 90 percent, has already received the Covid-19 vaccine. —APP
