ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said on Saturday that it was decided in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting that there would be zero tolerance against those terrorists who wanted to destabilize the country. He added that all the institutions are working effectively to eradicate terrorism from the country and the nation should rest assured that terrorists will be dealt with iron hands.
The minister said that during a press conference to pay tribute to the martyred policeman Head Constable Syed Adeel Hussain who intercepted a suicide bomber in Islamabad on December 23.
He also handed over a cheque amounting to Rs10 million as compensation to the family of the deceased adding that the government will provide a housing unit to his family of their own choice, worth Rs 12.5 million, a full pension along with allowances to the martyr’s widow and bear educational expenses of the children, from the Prime Minister’s package.
Meanwhile addressing the press conference, he said that the current government had fully recognized the services and sacrifices of Islamabad Police, which was evident from the fact that government had paid arrears amounting to Rs 1.22 billion in no time to the heirs/families of the martyrs, pending for many years.

He added that the government had brought salaries, allowances and other facilities of the Islamabad Police almost equivalent with the Punjab Police so that they could also perform their duties in a more favorable environment with professional dedication.
He further said it was unfortunate that some elements wished to spread fan in society by spreading fake security-related threats like the attack on the Parliament House through media. Such kinds of activities had been apprehended and were being investigated and its details will be shared with the media soon.
He further added that the Afghan Government was a reality and Pakistan wanted the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to surrender and efforts were underprocess to bring them on the negotiating table for this purpose.
While condemning the recent attack on CTD officers in Khanewal, Rana Sanaullah said that martyr Naveed Sadiq Sial had completed several brave tasks during his duty adding that sacrifices of all the personnel of law enforcement agencies for the motherland will not go in vain.
Recalling previous incidents Rana Sanaullah said that around 67 percent incidents of terror had occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during last year and 31 percent happened in Baluchistan, with one percent took place in Punjab and two percent in Sindh. He hailed the role of CTD Punjab and said that all the CTDs of other provinces should put maximum energy to prevent terrorist attacks.
