“Ashraf will shortly preside over a meeting of the management committee to discuss some important matters in PCB and charter out a future plan”, sources said.
The federal cabinet approved Zaka Ashraf’s appointment as PCB’s newly formed 10-member interim management committee chairman on Wednesday. The committee included Kaleem Ullah Khan, Ashfaq Akhtar, Musaddiq Islam, Zaheer Abbas, Khurram Karim Somroo, Azmat Parvez, Khuwaja Nadeem, Zulfiqar Malik, and Mustafa Ramday.
Zaka Ashraf replaces Najam Sethi
Ashraf has replaced ex-PCB chairman Najam Sethi, who resigned from the position to end the confrontation between the Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Peoples Party.
PML-N wanted to bring in Ashraf while PPP was betting on Mustafa Ramday.
Moreover, the government has also appointed Mahmood Iqbal as the chief election commissioner of PCB, replacing Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana.
