ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi, in a special message on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer on Sunday, said that the achievement of Pakistan’s nuclear capability was a remarkable feat for which the country’s engineers, scientists, the political and military leadership of the time deserved high appreciation.
Felicitating the nation, the president said that on this day 25 years ago, in response to India’s nuclear tests, Pakistan conducted nuclear its own tests that were essential for maintaining the balance of power in the region.
He said that the nation must highly commend the political and military leadership that took the wise decision at that time to achieve nuclear capability making Pakistan’s defence unassailable.
The president said that on this historic day, the entire nation paid tribute to the contributions of their eminent scientists and engineers who made the country a nuclear power within a short span of time.
He added that the entire nation was indebted to all those who played their role in making the country the first Islamic nuclear power.
President’s call
President Alvi asked the nation to pledge to make Pakistan a stronger country by investing in the intellectual development of its people and boosting our cyber-security to ensure its defense.
He expressed his hopes that with the collective efforts of citizens, they would make Pakistan’s defence impregnable.
