ISLAMABAD: In a seminar held at the National Press Club in Islamabad on Friday, speakers resonated with a shared sentiment that August 5 stands as the second darkest day in the Kashmir’s history. They said that from that day, India has turned the entire Illegal Occupied Kashmir into an open prison.
Amidst the discourse, the seminar participants emphasized the significance of August 5 as a testament to the unwavering determination of Kashmir, a precursor to honor, and a vivid embodiment of Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the cause of Kashmir’s freedom.
The global outcry over the human rights violations inflicted upon occupied Kashmir reverberates strongly, painting a vivid picture of a region ensnared within India’s unrelenting grasp and consequently turned into the world’s largest incarcerated territory.
However, the spirit of the resilient Kashmiris remains unbroken, their resolve resolute, as they continue to valiantly embrace the Pakistani flag, even in the face of potential martyrdom.
Reflecting upon history, the speakers pointedly recalled the Modi government’s illicit revocation of occupied Kashmir’s special status four years ago, a stark reminder of India’s unchecked actions. Unfazed, the Kashmiri freedom movement remains unyielding, staunchly rejecting the incursion that took place on August 5. Their pledge is unwavering, vowing to persevere until the very last Indian soldier departs from the soil of Kashmir.
Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and Kashmiri Resilience
Lord Mayor of Glasgow, Hanif Raja, addressing the assembly, underscored the global participation of overseas Kashmiris in advocating for their homeland’s cause. He accentuated the need for unity over grievances, urging concerted action rather than internal discord.
As the freedom movement treads through a delicate phase, the dire need for unity becomes manifest. The international community’s condemnation of India’s actions on August 5, 2019, is viewed as insufficient. Beyond mere rejection, the Kashmiri populace calls for worldwide acknowledgment of India’s grievous transgressions and a resolute push for the enforcement of United Nations resolutions pertaining to Kashmir.
Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, echoed the unwavering resolve of their founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, in the battle for Kashmir’s emancipation. Standing in solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris, he vehemently decried India’s rampant cruelty and the flagrant violation of human rights.
Secretary-General of the Freedom Conference, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, affirmed the indomitable spirit of the Kashmiri people, surpassing previous achievements. Their unwavering dedication propels their ongoing struggle, an unwavering pursuit that persists until ultimate goals are attained.
Addressing the gathering, senior freedom leader Syed Yousuf Naseem underscored the Kashmiri people’s steadfast determination to safeguard the banner of freedom, undeterred by India’s oppressive measures. Even in the face of adversity, as Kashmiri journalists confront martyrdom or imprisonment, their resolve remains unshaken. International human rights organizations are urgently implored to fulfill their obligations and aid in curbing the rampant violations in occupied Kashmir.
