SRINAGAR: IIOJK politician Mehbooba Mufti’s party was not allowed to hold an event on the occasion of fourth anniversary since India unilaterally cancelled the special status of IIOJK, India media reported.
Mehbooba Mufti’s Party Leaders Arrested, Denied Permission to Hold Event in Srinagar
Her party said that the authorities in Srinagar has rejected the party permission to organized the event to mark the anniversary of the cancelation of Article 370. Mehbooba Mufti said that leaders of her party were also arrested by Police and security agencies on the eve of the anniversary.
Mehbooba Mufti expressed these remarks through her social media account and questioned, “Why is Police arresting her party leaders on the eve of 5th August?.”
She further wrote, “Just goes on to expose the facade of normalcy – a fake narrative to justify their illegal actions,”. She also posted the video which shows a leader of her party being taken away police vehicles.

Earlier, another Kashmir politician Omar Abdullah also confessed that there is no democracy, and development in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He dismissed New Delhi’s claim of progress and normalcy in IIOJK. He further said that there is no liberties, press freedom in the region. He was detained for over seven months after India’s unilateral act in IIOJK. Omar Abdullah also questioned why is IIOJK being deprived of its democratic right?
