Yemen’s Ambassador to UN Thanks Riyadh for Its Economic, Political, Development Help

NEW YORK: Yemen’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Abdullah Al-Saadi, has said that they laud the economic, political, and development support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Arab media reported on Wednesday.

He was addressing a meeting of the UNSC in New York regarding the recent developments in Yemen. He said that the support, in keeping with directives from Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, is “a translation of the strength and depth of the extraordinary ties that bring together the two nations and the two brotherly peoples,”.

Yemen’s permanent representatives noted that the latest instance of Riyadh’s help to Yemen was the announcement of “substantial economic support to Yemen, amounting to over $1.2 billion to help the Presidential Leadership Council and the government of Yemen, to help in addressing the shortfall in the budget, and to assist the government’s efforts in executing a number of financial, and economic reforms.”

The help will also be utilized to assist authorities in Yemen in improving food security and also stabilize the national currency, the Ambassador said.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Prime Minister Maeen Abdul Malik said in a statement that the economic help provided by Saudi Arabia to Yemen would prove effective in supporting to enhance services and aid progress.
