Yemen PM Reviews Progress on Saudi Funded Border Crossing Rehabilitation Projects

MARIB: Prime Minister of Yemen Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak has reviewed the progress of the rehabilitation and expansion of the Al-Abr Road and the Al-Wadeeah Border Crossing renovation projects, which are being implemented by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

Director of the Program’s office in Marib Governorate, Ali Al-Dosari, along with several officials and specialists accompanied the Yemeni prime minister during the visit.

The prime minister examined the completion of the first section of the Al-Abr Road project, spanning 50 kilometers from Al-Dhuwabi to Al-Abr. He also reviewed the progress on the second section of the project, covering 40 kilometers from Ghuwayrban to Al-Dhuwabi.

He further assessed work at the Al-Wadeeah Border Crossing renovation project, which includes the construction of new buildings, completion of roadways, yards, renovation of existing structures and the overall site, implementation of road layers, yards, sidewalks, fences, and security gates, as well as the provision of directional and traffic signage, security surveillance systems, and the enhancement of water and energy sources at the crossing.

SDRPY has implemented sustainable development projects and initiatives across key areas, including education, water, health, energy, agriculture, transportation and fisheries, capacity building for the Yemeni government, and development programs across Yemen.
