ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has organized a musical performance event “Ye Rahi Haq K Shahidoo” as part of Pakistan Defence Day celebrations, local media reported on Saturday. Pakistan’s Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shaha honoured the event as the chief guest at the PNCA.

Prominent vocalists, such as Mehdi Raza, Karan Khan, accompanied by an orchestra, Nadir Abbas, Jia Nauman, Moeed Hashmi, Nauman Lashari, Ustad Shafqat Salamat Khan, Kainat Kian, Ustad Ghulam Abbas, and Madam Gulshan Jahan paid rich tribute to national heroes through famous national songs. Similarly, the National Performing Arts Group also delivered performances featuring national songs.
The excited audience at the packed PNCA hall showered the singers with loud applause.
On the occasion, Jamal Shah highlighted that September 6 holds an important place in Pakistan’s history. He added that it marks a golden era when Pakistan, its armed forces, and its citizens stood united in 1965 to defend the motherland.

He maintained that this day is celebrated in honour of the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the nation.
Jamal Shah expressed that Pakistan observes Defence Day to remember and share the valour showed by its citizens during critical times.
He underlined that the current gathering serves as a tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and ‘Ghazis.’ He further said, “Our courageous martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the country, will forever hold a special place in our hearts and will never disappear from our memory”.
Jamal Shah expressed his deep regret and sorrow over the unfortunate incident when miscreants assaulted Jinnah House and defense installations on May 9th, ruining the memory of our martyrs. He grieved that the miscreants even vandalized the statue of Captain Karnal Sher Khan, bringing shame to the honor of our national heroes.
