PYONG YANG, North Korea: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin sent messages of congratulations to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on North Korea’s founding anniversary, according to state media KCNA on Monday.
Putin emphasized the goal of strengthening the “comprehensive strategic partnership” between Russia and North Korea through joint efforts.
Xi also expressed a desire for deeper strategic communication and cooperation with North Korea. North Korea’s official name is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
Last year, Kim celebrated the anniversary with a parade of paramilitary groups and committed to strengthening ties with China and Russia.
