Key Points:

ISLAMABAD: A recent update from the social media platform X has exposed a wide network of accounts spreading false narratives and propaganda against Pakistan, revealing the foreign agendas behind many so-called human rights activists and political commentators.
Investigations following the update have shown that accounts affiliated with groups such as Afghanistan-based factions, Fatah al-Hindustan, and the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) were operating under foreign influence, promoting discord, division, and hatred against Pakistan. Many of these accounts were found to be run from India and other countries, often using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to conceal their true locations.
The account of spokesman Afghan Taliban regime Abdul Qahar Balkhi is being operated from India. This is a key evidence proving the deep nexus between India and Afghanistan against Pakistan. pic.twitter.com/I7k0IyYA2N

The network included accounts that attempted to propagate the terrorism narrative within Pakistan, particularly targeting regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These accounts, which presented themselves as local human rights activists, were, in reality, operated from abroad and often traced back to Indian interests.
Authorities note that the exposure of these accounts has revealed the broader machinery of anti-Pakistan propaganda operating outside the country, including the promotion of various political narratives aimed at destabilisation.
Experts say that these revelations are part of a growing trend where social media platforms are becoming battlegrounds for information warfare, and the disclosure of these networks demonstrates how foreign actors are attempting to influence domestic affairs in Pakistan.

The X platform update has therefore not only uncovered foreign-funded misinformation campaigns but also highlighted the use of sophisticated tools like VPNs to manipulate public perception, shedding light on the covert strategies used by hostile networks to spread hatred and division.
With this exposure, Pakistan now has tangible evidence of how international networks are orchestrating propaganda and false narratives, reinforcing the need for vigilance in both social media literacy and national security.
