X to Collect Biometric Data: Report

The social media platform did not specify what biometric data would be collected, but the term refers to a user’s physical features like face and fingerprints.

The updated policy applies only to Premium users of the social media platform, who also have the choice to submit their official ID and a selfie to include an extra sheet of verification.

The X said it would also help them tie and make the social media platform more and more secure.

According to the company statement, the biometric information might collect users’ education and employment history.

Some sections of British media reported that there had been reports regarding the company offering recruitment services, saying that X Corp. in May developed the technological jobs platform Laskie.

As per reports, the new changes will take effect on September 29. The development comes after X owner Elon Musk said that the firm was preparing to introduce a video and audio call feature.
