WEST MEMPHIS, United States: Wrestling star Sid Eudy, commonly known as ‘Sycho Sid,’ has died at 63 following a prolonged battle with cancer, confirmed by his family.
Gunnar, Eudy’s son, took to Facebook to share the news, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of his father, whom he described as a man of strength, love, and kindness. He also expressed gratitude towards everyone for their support during this difficult period and mentioned that details for a memorial service would be shared soon.
Eudy, known by his ring names ‘Sid Vicious’ and ‘Sid Justice,’ was a giant in the wrestling world, standing 6-foot-9. He started his career with WCW in 1989 and went on to become a six-time world champion, across both WWF (now WWE) and WCW.
The WWE’s official website reflecting on Sid’s career, said that it could have reached even greater heights, if not for a leg injury in 2001, stating that his accomplishments could have rivaled the best in WWE history. In a statement released after his passing, a WWE spokesperson expressed sorrow at Eudy’s loss, highlighting his imposing presence, natural charisma, and lasting influence on the Wrestling world.
Born in 1960, in West Memphis, Arkansas, Eudy headlined two iconic WrestleManias and competed against legendary wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels.
As news of his passing spread, heartfelt tributes flooded in from fans and colleagues, including a heartfelt social media post from Marc Mero, who recalled Sid as one of the first wrestlers he faced in WCW and lauded his character.
