According to a survey, roughly 100,000 patients in Pakistan suffer from Thalassemia, and 5,000 babies are born with this life-threatening condition each year.

Many seminars were held across the country in connection with World Thalassemia Day, including one held in Peshawar by the Alkhidmat Foundation.

The chief guest on the occasion was Awami National Party (ANP) provincial spokesperson Samar Haroon Bilour, who advocated for raising disease awareness among the population, particularly youth.

She stated that a simple test can transform the course of a family’s future and urged young people not to overlook it before marriage.
