ISLAMABAD: Experts stressed environmental laws on provincial level on Monday and demanded relevant authorities for the introduction of the subject of climate change in the educational curriculum, with the main aim to give awareness to the younger generation about plastic use, its harmful effects and protection of environment in the future.
Senior Researcher Dr. Kanwar Muhammad Javed Iqbal at NIMA while talking to a Private news channel said on ‘World Environment Day’ that the ministry should take all the provinces into confidence and convince them to introduce a new subject of climate change from the school to the university level.
He said that the best way to prepare young generation to combat the emerging danger is to educate and aware them of the negative impacts of climate change. He further said that education plays the role of an important element in reducing the usage of plastic bags and it helps people to encourage change in their attitudes. Answering a question, he said that by enforcing the exciting laws, the negative impacts of pollution can be reduced. — APP
