ISLAMABAD: To raise public awareness about the nutritional significance of eggs in the human diet, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, in collaboration with Sadiq Group of Industries, celebrated “World Egg Day” Today (Saturday).
The event featured a seminar highlighting the importance of eggs and a cooking competition. Participants in the competition received cash prizes and shields.
Dr. Habib Ur Rehman, the keynote speaker, said that eggs are exceptional superfoods due to their essential nutrients and rich protein content.
Eggs can address overlooked nutrient deficiencies, contributing to optimal health and performance while boosting the immune system. Dr. Rehman also pointed out that studies have shown eggs to benefit cognitive functions, such as verbal and visual memory, and improve cardiovascular health.
The Managing Director of the Sadiq Group, Saad Sadiq, announced merit scholarships and reaffirmed the firm’s dedication to offering high-quality eggs while following contemporary procedures.
According to Sadiq, World Egg Day is an excellent opportunity to spread the message that eggs are an excellent and affordable source of high-quality nutrition with the potential to contribute to international food security.
