World Cup: Pakistan Cricket Board Chief to Attend Pak-India Match

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman, Zaka Ashraf, will attend the Pak-India match in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup to bed held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

The PCB media reported that Zaka Ashraf had postponed his travel plans to India due to a significant delay in visa processing for journalists and Pakistani fans by the Indian authorities.

Zaka Ashraf is now scheduled to travel to India on October 12 (Thursday) after receiving confirmation from the Indian High Commission regarding visas for journalists and fans. The India High Commission had extended invitations to media personnel to submit their passports for Indian visas to cover the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

In a statement, Zaka Ashraf expressed, “I have delayed my travel to India, and I am traveling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega event. I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay.”

Zaka Ashraf also shared his delight regarding the team’s recent performance in India, emphasizing his satisfaction with the players’ efforts in the World Cup, where they have won both of their matches. He further conveyed the unwavering support of the PCB management committee and the entire nation for a successful campaign in the ongoing World Cup.

Commenting on his travel to India, he said that his message to the tam is to play their game fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event.
