ISLAMABAD: The Workers Welfare Fund (WWF), operating under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, has achieved a significant milestone by completing a labor complex in Zone-V, comprising 1008 flats and 500 houses, catering to registered workers from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to an official source, the WWF has been tirelessly working day and night to address the various issues faced by workers, with labor complexes in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad forming an integral part of this endeavor.

The completed Workers Welfare Labor Colony Phase-I spans over 1476 kanals of land and includes 1008 flats and 500 houses, all earmarked for industrial workers. Alongside residential units, essential amenities such as a mosque, industrial home, community center, and utility store have been constructed within the colony, ensuring the well-being and convenience of its residents.

Responding to inquiries, the official revealed that the government had successfully achieved its target of sending one million people abroad under various agreements for employment opportunities. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in remittances, reflecting the positive impact of government initiatives on the welfare of overseas workers and their families.
