AUCKLAND: England opened their Women’s World Cup title charge with a stumbling 1-0 victory against Haiti on Saturday.

As per details, Georgia Stanway’s penalty on 29 minutes of the match turned out to be the winner in Brisbane, but the English side were far from convincing against a young Haiti side who gave their opposition several scares.

Earlier, the US team also launched their bid to win the Women’s World Cup in a row with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Vietnam on Saturday in Auckland.
