ISLAMABAD: As the sun rose on International Women’s Day, women from various areas of Pakistan began to gather outside Parliament in Islamabad for the annual Aurat March. This year’s march was especially significant, marking the fifth year since the first Aurat March took place in Pakistan in 2018.

The rally was led by women’s rights activists and supported by hundreds of women from all walks of life. The participants held banners and placards inscribed with slogans demanding women’s rights and gender equality. The messages were clear: women are demanding equal treatment and an end to gender-based discrimination.

On the occasion women chanted slogans and shared stories of their own experiences with gender inequality. Some spoke of the challenges they face in the workplace, while others talked about the lack of access to healthcare and education.
