LATUR, MAHARASHTRA/INDIA: 25-year-old lady strangled her three days old baby girl as she was disappointed over giving birth to a second girl. The incident took place on December 29.

The woman was arrested on Friday, He said that a lady was detained on suspicion of killing her three-day-old daughter in Latur, Maharashtra. The Goregaon police station officer continued, “An inquiry has shown that the 25-year-old woman strangled the infant on December 29 because she was distraught about giving birth to a second girl child.”
“The mother gave birth in a primary health facility in Kasar Jawala village. She is a resident of Holi in Lohara tehsil of Osmanabad. She used a handkerchief to strangle the three-day-old child. After an investigation into the killing, she was taken into custody on Friday night,” according to Sub-Inspector Kishor Kambale.
