KARACHI: A woman and her brother, reportedly a high-ranking officer, are facing charges of manhandling a cop after the video of her assaulting a police officer went viral.
The incident occurred when DSP Traffic Ishtiaq Hussain Arain intercepted the woman’s car for violating traffic laws in Karachi. The woman, who was with her husband, became physically and abusive toward the officer. She slapped him when he tried to stop her from leaving the scene.
A case has been filed after SSP South Asad Raza took notice of the incident. The first information report (FIR), filed at the Civil Lines Police Station in Karachi, included provisions of interference with traffic, violation and laws, and traffic rules.
Video of cop-woman spat goes viral
In the video, the lady could be seen getting off a car and misbehaving with the traffic police officer. The lady later resorts to pushing the law-enforcer and trying to flee the area. In a video, she is seen slapping the Traffic police officer when he tries to stop her. The woman is reportedly working at PNS Shifa hospital.
