ISLAMABAD: Four witnesses recorded their testimonies in the Pakatan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supremo Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Nikah case on Tuesday.
Islamabad Civil Judge Qudratullah heard the illegal marriage case, during which the petitioner’s legal counsel, Rizwan Abbasi, and witnesses appeared in the court.
During the hearing, the statements of the case witness and Khawar Maneka’s domestic helper, Muhammad Latif, were recorded, after which the statements of the four witnesses of the case were also recorded.
Later, the court adjourned further hearing till 8 December after seeking arguments on the case’s merits. The petitioner’s lawyers will present their arguments on the case’s admissibility in the next hearing on Friday.
It is to be noted that Khawar Maneka moved to Islamabad local court against the alleged illegal nikah of his ex-wife and PTI supremo Imran Khan.
Imran Khan-Bushra Bibi Nikah
The former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi in February 2018 in Lahore.
The ceremony was attended by only close relatives, including the Bushra Bibi’s mother and friends. However, Imran Khan’s sisters remained absent.
Mufti Saeed had performed the nikah in the presence of former SAPM Zulfi Bukhari and ex-PTI leader Awn Chaudhary, who appeared as witnesses.
