ISLAMABAD: The eagerly awaited festival of Eid ul Adha is expected to be celebrated in Pakistan on June 29, according to the Climate Data Processing Centre. As preparations are underway, the center has forecasted that the sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon will likely occur on June 19 (Monday).
The Meteorological Office has revealed that the moon is expected to be born on June 18 at 9:37 pm, and it could be sighted on June 19. Consequently, the first day of the Islamic month of Zil-Hajj will be observed on June 20 (Tuesday), leading up to the celebration of Eid ul Adha on June 29 (Thursday).
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, responsible for moon sighting in Pakistan, meet on the 29th of every Islamic month to officially announce the sighting of the moon. This announcement plays a significant role in determining the exact date of Eid ul Adha.
