NEW YORK: Timothée Chalamet, the 29-year-old actor and star of Dune and Marty Supreme, has sparked headlines by refusing to discuss his relationship with reality TV star Kylie Jenner, leaving the 28-year-old socialite “raging” and “heartbroken.”
Chalamet made the remark in a candid interview for Vogue’s December 2025 issue while promoting his new sports comedy-drama, Marty Supreme. Asked about his romance with Jenner, he said, “I don’t say that with any fear. I just don’t have anything to say.”
The French-American actor has been increasingly private about his personal life, hinting that public displays of affection are behind him.
The couple, first linked in April 2023, were once known for high-profile outings and red-carpet displays of affection.
They made appearances together at the 70th David di Donatello Awards in Rome last May, the New York Film Festival on 6 October, and a New York Yankees playoff game just two days later, where Jenner wore a Marty Supreme jacket in support of Chalamet.
Despite these appearances, RadarOnline reported that Jenner was upset by Chalamet’s remarks. “Kylie was really upset by how casually Timothée dismissed the question,” a source told the outlet.
“She honestly believed they were past the point of hiding things and that he’d want to celebrate their relationship, not act like it doesn’t exist. She’s raging, shocked, and heartbroken, but, as usual, is trying to put on a brave face by posting happy photos on social media.”
Chalamet on Fatherhood and Life Priorities
While Chalamet avoided discussing his relationship in detail, he opened up about family life and fatherhood.
Citing the recent marriage of co-stars Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy, he said he was struck by the realities of parenthood.
“I saw a video boasting about how much time there is to do other things without having children, and it’s bleak,” he told Vogue. “I believe one of the reasons humans exist is reproduction.”
The actor reportedly sees parenthood as a potential next step. People.com noted that he hinted children “could be on the radar” for the future.
Chalamet also highlighted professional role models who balance career and family life, such as director Denis Villeneuve.
Relationship Status
Despite reports of tension, gossip columnist Rob Shuter suggested the couple is not necessarily breaking up.
Writing on his #ShuterScoop platform, he described Chalamet as entering his “grown-man era” and said, “Marriage is 100 per cent on the cards, though they’re not rushing.”
Sources told RadarOnline that cracks in the relationship began emerging over the summer.
“They’ve been on completely different schedules for months, and it’s really strained things. Kylie’s been the one reaching out, calling, visiting – but she’s beginning to feel like she’s putting in all the effort,” one insider said.
The source added that Chalamet “rarely returns the favour” despite Jenner travelling to support him.
Social media users largely praised Chalamet for maintaining privacy. One X user wrote, “Both of them prefer not to talk about each other as the only boundary they can establish with the media.”
Hollywood insiders noted that while Chalamet may be stepping back from public romance, media and fan interest remains high.
