LOS ANGELES: US pop star Katy Perry has gone public with her relationship with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, sharing affectionate photos on social media, as reports say some in her inner circle are concerned she is moving too quickly after her recent split from actor Orlando Bloom.
Perry, 41, posted images on Instagram on February 10 showing herself and Trudeau, 54, smiling together during a winter outing.
“♥️ Let love be the revolution ♥️,” she wrote in the caption.
One image showed Trudeau taking a selfie of the pair wearing helmets on a snowy mountaintop. Another showed them posing at a hot pot dinner.
Perry also shared a photograph of what appeared to be instructions for solving a Rubik’s Cube on stationery from the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada.

The post came two months after the couple made their relationship Instagram official in December, when Perry included Trudeau in photos and videos from a trip to Tokyo.
Neither Perry nor Trudeau has publicly commented in detail on the status of their relationship.
Romance speculation
The pair have been romantically linked since last summer. In late July, Perry was spotted dining with Trudeau in Montreal, fuelling speculation about a new relationship.
Soon after, videos circulated on social media showing Trudeau singing along at Perry’s concert in the Canadian city.
In October, the two were photographed together on a yacht off Santa Barbara, according to entertainment outlet RadarOnline.
Trudeau served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 until he announced his resignation in January 2025 amid political pressure.
He separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They share three children.
Perry confirmed the end of her engagement to British actor Orlando Bloom early last summer after nine years together.
The former couple share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
Friends urge caution
RadarOnline, citing unnamed sources, reported that some of Perry’s friends are worried about the pace of the new romance.
“A lot of people in her life are worried that she’s moving too fast,” one insider was quoted as saying.
“She was with Orlando Bloom for nearly a decade, and she went straight from their breakup to dating Justin without missing a beat – and suddenly he’s her whole world.”
The source added that Perry had not taken time to “process the breakup properly”.
“It’s a little concerning because she never really stopped to catch her breath,” the insider said.
“But Katy doesn’t want to hear any of that. She keeps saying she’s never been happier and that this feels easy in a way that things with Orlando never did.”
According to the same report, the pair have discussed the possibility of eloping and even expanding their families.
