ISLAMABAD: White Chicken Karahi is a delicious Pakistani dish known for its creamy texture and aromatic spices. Here’s a simple recipe to make this flavorful dish.
Ingredients
For Chicken Marinade:
1 kg Chicken
1 tbsp Black pepper (crushed)
½ tbsp Cumin seeds (crushed)
½ tbsp Salt
1 tsp White pepper powder
1 tbsp Lemon juice
For Onion Paste:
3 tbsp Oil
1 cup Onion (sliced)
3-4 Garlic cloves
1-2 Green chilies (halved)
1-2 Ginger pods
1½ cups Yogurt
For Karahi:
½ cup Oil
Cream (½ cup)
Sliced green chilies and chopped green coriander for garnish
Directions
Marinate Chicken: Mix the chicken with black pepper, cumin, salt, white pepper, and lemon juice. Set aside.
Make Onion Paste: In a pan, heat oil, sauté the onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies until softened. Blend with yogurt until smooth.
Cook Chicken: In a pot, heat oil, add marinated chicken, and cook for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the onion paste and cover until the chicken is cooked through.
Finish the Dish: Add cream, cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with green chilies and coriander.
