MENLO PARK: WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, has launched a new feature called “instant video messages,” offering users a quick and secure way to communicate with their family and friends.

With the new feature, users can now record and share short personal videos directly within their chats. The video messages allow real-time responses to conversations, enabling users to convey emotions and share moments in a 60-second video format. Whether it’s sending birthday wishes, sharing a laugh, or delivering good news, video messages aim to add an extra layer of personalization to the chat experience.

Sending Video Message Via WhatsApp

Sending a video message is easy and straightforward. Users can simply switch to video mode by tapping a button and hold to start recording the video. For hands-free recording, a swipe-up option allows users to lock and record the video. When opened in a chat, the videos will play automatically on mute, and tapping on the video will initiate sound playback.

To ensure user privacy, video messages are protected with end-to-end encryption, maintaining the same level of security as other WhatsApp messages.

The feature has already started rolling out to users, and it will be made available to everyone in the coming weeks. As WhatsApp continues to enhance its platform, instant video messaging is expected to be a popular addition, offering users an expressive and engaging way to connect with their loved ones.
