RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) aid agency inked a $6.8 million deal with the World Food Program (WFP) to provide food to Syrian refugees in Jordan, Arab News reported on Tuesday.
The agreement was inked by deputy supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Ahmed Al-Bayez and World Food Program GCC representative Mageed Yahia through video conference.
WFP, KSrelief will Provide Food for Syrian Refugees in Jordan
According to Arab News, KSrelief will provide a grant to the World Food Program to distribute food assistance to 54,000 Syrian refugees at Zaatari camp in Jordan via monthly electronic vouchers to be used in bakeries and shops at the camp.
The endowment falls within relief and humanitarian projects executed by KSrelief to support Syrian refugees and enhance their living conditions in asylum environments, Arab News maintained.
