JERUSALEM: In a recent incident near the illegal Jewish settlement of Elon Moreh in the West Bank, Israeli forces engaged with and killed two Palestinians.
Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, commended the troops for their actions, stating that they had thwarted an imminent attack on Israeli civilians. The Palestinians involved in the clash have not yet been identified.
According to Israeli authorities, the armed assailants fired shots from a vehicle at the Elon Moreh post, prompting Israeli soldiers to respond by opening fire, resulting in the fatalities.
The incident has occurred amidst escalating violence in the region during religious observances, claiming both Israeli and Palestinian lives this year.
