ISLAMABAD: The opening T20 International between Pakistan and Bangladesh is set to take place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, with the hosts eager to exact revenge after a 3-0 whitewash in the previous series held in Pakistan.

However, the series opener faces a considerable threat from rain, as light to heavy showers are forecast both before and after the match in Dhaka. During the match, temperatures are expected to hover around 31°C, with a RealFeel temperature of 37°C. Winds will be blowing from the south-southwest at 9 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 19 km/h.

Humidity levels will stand at 77 per cent, resulting in extremely humid conditions. Cloud cover will be almost complete at 99 per cent, with a cloud ceiling of 1,200 metres. Approximately 1.7 mm of rain is predicted, and visibility is expected to be around 8 km.
By around 8:00 PM Bangladesh time, the temperature is expected to drop slightly to 30°C, though the RealFeel will remain at 37°C. Winds will shift to a southerly direction at 11 km/h, with gusts steady at 19 km/h.
Increase humidity
Humidity will increase to 79 per cent, maintaining the very humid conditions. Rainfall intensity is expected to ease, with just 0.3 mm of precipitation forecast. Cloud cover will remain at 99 per cent, but the cloud ceiling is expected to rise to 2,100 metres.

It is worth noting that the second and third T20Is are scheduled to be played at the same venue on 22 and 24 July, respectively.
The two sides last met in May of this year, where Pakistan secured a clean sweep on home soil.
In total, Pakistan and Bangladesh have faced each other 22 times in T20 internationals, with Pakistan winning 19 of those matches and Bangladesh victorious on just three occasions.
The trophy for the upcoming three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was unveiled during a ceremony held at a local hotel on Saturday.
Captains from both teams, Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha and Bangladesh’s Litton Das, posed with the trophy ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested series.
The opening match is scheduled for 20 July, with the first ball due to be bowled at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
