ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has forecasted cold and dry weather in most parts of the country in next 24 hours. Partly cloudy weather with light rain and mild snowfall over the mountains is likely to persist at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Foggy condition
Foggy condition is likely to persist over plain areas of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during night and morning hours.
As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is present over the upper and central parts of the country and is likely to persist in the upper areas in next 24 hours.

Air quality
The air quality in the capital of Punjab, i.e., Lahore, is 267 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 209, 153 in Muridke, 240 in Rawalpindi, and 41 in Sialkot. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 246 US AQI, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 139. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 57 in Abbottabad and 255 in Peshawar.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met), a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 12°C in Lahore, 17°C in Karachi, 8°C in Peshawar, 4°C in Quetta, and 2.5°C in Gilgit.
