LAHORE: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has asked people to prepare for severe weather conditions likely to hit several areas in Punjab on Thursday.
According to the PDMA, thunderstorms are expected across Punjab, along with heavy rain, hailstorms, and lightning.
The alert, issued by the PDMA warns residents to stay indoors and seek shelter in safe places to avoid the dangers of lightning strikes. Furthermore, the PDMA advises against venturing out into open areas during adverse weather conditions to ensure people safety.
Specifically, districts including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, DG Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur are expected to experience rainfall, while areas such as Murree are at risk of landslides due to the anticipated precipitation.
DG PDMA issued directives to the rescue agencies to ensure close coordination with the PDMA to respond promptly to any emergencies that may arise.
